The Week and mental_floss

As VP of Marketing for The Week and mental_floss, Tara leads all marketing strategy, brand-related efforts, promotions, partnerships and ad operations. Tara is an integrated marketing expert and brings more than 18 years of marketing and sales development experience for major print and digital publishers.

Prior to her role at The Week and mental_floss, Tara served as the Executive Marketing Director for Fast Company where she was in charge of all marketing programs. During her tenure at Fast Company, Tara established and grew Fast Company’s brand event strategy to a $2.5MM business that included four signature events—Innovation Uncensored (NY & SF), Innovation by Design, The Fast Company Grill at SXSW—and developed over ten custom events each year. Additionally, Tara played an integral role on the team that led the recovery of the Fast Company brand, which, under Tara’s leadership, saw double-digit revenue growth year-over-year for six consecutive years. Tara championed Fast Company as a distinctive and innovative brand recognized by the industry as a recipient of numerous awards including: Ad Age’s A-List, Ad Week’s Hot List, and ASME’s Magazine of the Year.

Prior to Fast Company, Tara worked at MyPrimeTime, a Web1.0 start-up, as a sales development director where she developed the marketing strategy for the national sales team and started her career at Wired Magazine as an associate marketing manager.

Tara has a BA in French and Literature from SUNY Albany.
